The issue for Reade isn’t “memory flaws” or other people’s claims about her character (which, by the way, are supported by emails and text messages).

She published a mostly fabricated account (when you compared it to her own claims in the divorce papers) of her own experience of domestic violence.

And there is a ton more evidence of her dishonesty — if you read my Quillette piece (linked in this article), I discuss the fact that she altered an April 2019 Medium post in March of this year to bring it in line with her sexual assault allegations.

Her story (an assault in a public place, by a politician with no record of sexual predation, at a time of heightened attention to sexual harassment on Capitol Hill) didn’t make sense in the first place. The only way it could be remotely plausible would be if her credibility was so high that it would be simply impossible to explain it as “she lied.”
